“Double your premium without telling you”

Written on: 08/03/2012 by luplol (1 review written)

Went for Aviva as 2 car policy, total quoted £840. My car with 1 year NCD was £650 of this.
Aviva wouldn't accept the proof of NCD as was from another joint policy so they took additional £854 from our account 2 monthes later without a letter or email or phone call. We only foung out when we recieved our statement, premium now £1694.
I rang them and they said that was correct, I asked what percentage 1 year NCD was with them, customer service person didn't know! Went to ask and said 50%.
I would think that if my cars discount was 50% then without this it would double adding £650 to premium not £854 but apparently this is correct?
Am changing to seperate policies.
Just out of interest if we were new customers with Aviva with same cars and no NCD for me it would be £825.

None of this makes sense to me so will not be an Aviva customer again and will be and have told many people to be wary of them.
