Having been with Vodafone for 7 years, I can honestly say that loyalty counts for nothing with the.To be honest this isnt a loyalty problem and I would hope whether you had been with the Mobile company 7 hours or 7 years you never get treated as I have been treated over the last 4 months.
I started back in October 2011,my daughter was in the process of moving to Bath Uni and had found digs in Radstock, Avon. Having checked the signal strenght for Vodafone in her immediate area and it showed good, I went and purchased a contract phone for her. Within days it was obvious there was a problem with the signal in her area and I contacted Vodafone to see why there was no signal. Having been put through to a middle east call centre, I was told that there was a transmitter problem and that maintenance was being carried out to rectify, all would be well within 3 days or so. This went on for 4 weeks and countless hours waiting on the end of the phone and being fobbed off, lied too would probably be a better description. Finally Vodafone admitted that there was no signal in this area (even though their website said there was) and said that they would cancel the contract once one of their couriers had come and collected my daughter handset, that was October 5th, the handset was eventually collected on the 28 November after several dates given to me were they just did not turn up and I spent most of the day waiting for them.So handset collected, problem soughted? NO. It is now March 2012 and I am still being charged for the phone they took from me last year. Only in the last couple of days I believe I may have sorted this problem outbut I aint holding my breath. I have lost money, the english vodafone customer services rep actually told me even though it was Vodafones fault, "you have no chance of getting that money back mate" To say the last 4 months have been painfully frustrating and down right annoying, hours and hours of waiting on the end of the phone, being LIED too, FOBBED OFF and just wait one moment please whilst I transfer you to a different department.............then cutting me off! Even the Website is useless, you type a lengthy email (similar to this) press send and a bloody message comes up saying "sorry this service is temporarily unavailable" why couldnt it tell you that at the beginning. OK, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, JOIN VODAFONE AT YOUR PERIL AND GOD HELP YOU IF YOU GET A PROBLEM AND HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICES IN IRELAND, EGYPT AND INDIA BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE ARE PROBABLY BEING PAID PEANUTS AND DONT GIVE A MONKEYS ABOUT YOU AND YOUR PROBLEM! So glad to get that off my chest, I hear O2 are good and as soon as my contract expires in June, thats where I will be going.
