“2008 vivaro Lwb”

written by schadenfreude62 on 04/03/2012

Reading these reviews has reinforced my opinion of the vivaro, I bought my lwb 2008 with 45,000 miles on the clock from a local dealer in bournemouth. Soon after it started to run on 3 cylinders so got it diagnosed at main v.hall dealer: one of the injectors down but they could not say which one so wanted to replace all 4! the van was just out of warranty so had no intention of paying £1200 plus to a main dealer, got a local auto electrician to indentify which injector it was and sourced a replacement new injector. Hell of a job getting the old one out - used a puller but it fought all the way - they rust in as I see a few vivaro owners have discovered!
Ran ok for a while then started to run on 3 cylinders again, then cleared itself, has been ok for a while now so think it may be poor quality diesel - don't go to morrisons for your diesel - my van does not like it.
still have very annoying flat spot on pullaway and also suspect the electronic accelerator sensor is on it's way out, loadsamoney I have been told. am about to update van but don't know what to go for, transits are so crude, had one of those before, the vivaro is such a good looking van but very expensive when it goes wrong. I suspect that not only vans but cars are now designed to pack up just out of warranty, this makes the manufacturers probably as much money as selling the vehicles in the first place!
