“Sub standard vehicle”

When booking a vehicle for last summer, Doyouspain emailed me to say a focus wagon was not available, but a Renault Scenic was. I made the booking. When we arrived at Palma Airport, we found an horrendous Tata indego waiting for us. I thought this was a joke! It was cramped. There was no radio in it, and it was like driving a 30 year old vehicle. When I complained, they told me they did not have another vehicle, but if I came back next day, they may have another vehicle. I do not go on holidays to spend time driving to and fro airports. The vehicle eventually died, and they had to replace it. This they did efficiently. However, an evening of our holiday was wasted waiting for the replacement vehicle, which was an excellent Ford CMax. A Tata should not be equated with a Peugeot, Renault, Ford, Volkswagon etc. When I contacted DoYouSpain on return home, they simply passed on the complaint to recordgo. I have never driven such rubbish, and I do not know any other company which hires such vehicles. Beware when booking with DoYouSpain!!
I cannot understand how in this modern age of technology that a company cannot in advance tell you what vehicle you will get upon arrival. Certainly, such a sub standard vehicle should not be included in a hire fleet, and it certainly should not be priced alongside the other makes mentioned above. Small print means no come back reagrding these firms. I shall never use DoYouSpain again.
