“Beyond a joke”

The story.... I take out insurance, I get the documents, and the request for my proof of no claims, a wait a week or so (well within the time limit) for my no-claim proof to arrive from the previous insurer following a change of cars, it arrives and I send it off. A week later it arrives back saying they cannot find the policy to which it applies, so I return it (special delivery) again with a thorough covering letter. Today I receive a letter (dated yesterday) from them saying as they have not received my proof of no claims they cancelled the policy 6 DAYS AGO!!!!! 6 Days ago, well thanks for keeping me informed, and making me and my wife drive illegally in that time. Such behaviour seems at best irresponsible, at worst... well I'll let you decide.
Obviously I'll be calling them in the morning to hear what they have to say.
I would certainly never recommend or use this company again.
