“Fitness First. Customer Service Last.”

I went for a three-day trial at Fitness First in Wednesbury and on my first day was persuaded to take out a 12-month contract with the gym. I was promised a wide selection of services as well as free items to welcome me to the gym AND passes that I could give to my friends for free trial sessions. I've asked about these things repeatedly and now, after 6 months of being with FF, I still HAVE NOT received anything that I was promised. Also, since joining, the gym I go to has raised their prices considerably and even charged me twice last month without any explanation.

I've tried phoning head office at least 10 times and each time their customer service is absolutely terrible. The operators are rude and I'm left on hold for up to 20 minutes at a time. I would never recommend Fitness First to anyone and I will certainly be looking for another gym once my 12 month period is up.
