“GVI Seychelles Divemaster Internship”

This was one of the best things I have ever done. I didn’t really know what I was getting into but after one week there I knew it was going to be amazing.

I have a science background but knew very little about the ocean or what was in it, only that I liked to eat fish but I wasn’t able to tell you anything else about them. When I found out I was goining to be on a coral phase I thought it would be boring but I was completely wrong. We learn’t so much about reefs and the huge part they play in the worlds oceans and by learning about corals and surveying them, we also got to see all the amazing animals that live in them, around them, and anywhere you looked basically. This was also brilliant if you had an underwater camera as you could get beautiful pictures.

The people on my phase were the best, everybody was there for their own reasons but everyone came to experience the same thing and we pretty much did everything together. The staff were great and they did there best to teach us, entertain us and maybe control us at times.
When we started our divemaster intership it was hard saying goodbye to the friends we made. The next few months were even more fun then being on base. We learnt loads and the diving was completely diffierent as we had to look after clients rather than survey.

It is expensive to do the course but what your going to get out of it will definitely exceed expectations, the diving and the parties alone are worth it but you will get so much more out of it.
