“I work for Halfords and can only say that it is the...”

I work for Halfords and can only say that it is the fault of the companies' management, staff are all on minimum wage, they arent trained yet are expected to know everything in the store, contracts are only 7 hours each so only the unemployable, very young are interested in working for them. I am one of the old boots era employees that are well trained, knowledgable and customer orientated but there arent many of us left... Staff are under massive pressure to work harder and harder as well as being expected to put in extra hours unpaid. Even bank holidays are paid single time and the regular team meetings are unpaid (not even mileage expenses). The staffing levels in the shops are now less than 60% that they were in the late nineties when I started yet the customer footfall is on average 20% higher!! So there is in effect much less staff to serve more customers as well as more work instore than there was 10 years ago. We are all in an impossible situation and everyone is looking for other jobs because we are all sick...

SO, my point is, if you have to wait for be served, or encounter a overstressed or stroppy member of staff, then one of the afore mentioned points could be the reason!!
