Malham village is very picturesque and in my opinion, the Buck Inn makes too much a killing on the 100's of walkers and day trippers to the area.
Paying £3.40 for a blackcurrant and lemonade (cordial and machine lemonade) is half the price of a ham sandwich. Really is overkill and when asked if the price is correct the reply "I know, but I'm afraid the price is right" says it all.
10oz Steak sounded nice but at £21.95 I would have expected the sauce to come with it .... no, that is an extra £3 please sir !!!
Most dishes started at over £10, even a gammon steak was around the £15 mark.
From what the five of us ate and looking at other meals around, the food was reasonable but definitely NOT value for money.
Lovely location beautiful place for a walk, and the pub itself is walker friendly. But the prices are HEAVILY over inflated - daylight robbery.
However, there is another pub in the village considerably cheaper for next time.
Last time I was there was 3 years ago and from memory, drinks and food were reasonable last time we visited. Not sure if it has changed hands.
