I bought this car as a present to myself after a particularly good year before the banks destroyed it for us all. It was new, but it was still around the £30K mark.
Everything was fine until 2011, when I discovered I had an ABS fault. Upon further inspection it was discovered that the connector from the wiring loom to the ABS Pump was corroded. Now I was prepared to take this on the chin, until I had my local Lexus garage inspect the vehicle. Now, it turns out, that Lexus knew all about the problem, they even had error codes and a technical bulletin for their dealerships to handle the situation.
I was very surprised to discover that the remedy for my problem, is not only a new ABS Pump (circa £1200), new Wiring Loom (Circa £3000) and the most surprising, a new Windscreen (circa £800) in addition a fair sum of labour to fit all the above items the total repair cost comes in at £6500.
Now, like I said I could have took it on the chin, but why the windscreen, well alledgedly there is a design fault that causes water to ingress into the wiring loom, thereby causing it and whatever it might be connected to to corrode.
