Simply THE worst car insurance company ever!!! I got rid of my car, so I called to cancel the policy. They wanted a whopping £55 to cancel it. So my dad gave me a little run around as I have a company car, to keep my no claims etc going. They charged me £26 admin fee to change the policy, which I can just about stomach and changed the direct debit date as the original one was cancelled.
I had a letter yesterday to tell me that I had not paid the DD and if I did not pay it they would cancel my policy. I called this morning to check the DD and was told it was returned by the bank and to set a new one up it would be £26! I stated I WILL NOT pay the astronomical fee of £26 for something that is mandatory to pay for the bloody policy!
The people I spoke to were awful and stated that "It is up to you to get in touch with the bank and sort it and get the bank to pay it"
I called the bank to find no DD had been presented to my bank since Dec 11 and the DD was live.....NEVER returned as wasn't applied for.
I called Sheila's wheels back and was told by another person that it was down to the bank and the bank are WRONG and I needed to get a letter off the bank to send to them, or pay the £26! Also he told me that I can not go to the ombudsmen till a manager had called me and tried to resolve it, which will be 48 hours, as managers DO NOT speak to people!!
So, as it stands I might have the policy cancelled, the bank can not do anything as the DD is live and Sheila's Wheels will not take ANY payment unless I pay £26......
I am totally furious and stuck!!!!!
