I bought the Stowamatic from Sports HQ. At first it seemed fine: quick and responsive. Within a few months it stopped. It was picked up and 'repaired'. 20 yards off the 1st tee in the Scottish Seniors. - phutttt! Not a good tournament.
Sports HQ sent another - not new, but something from the returns department. Reluctantly, accepted as needed for competitions. Needless to say this one broke down too. After a long e-mail discussion (over 50 messages in the thread), I was sent a new trolley. It went along ok for a couple of months, then the controller went wonky and the pins in the wheels broke (amazing to see a trolley going in circles). I asked for repairs and was told that I was out of warranty - the second 'new' one was only 6 months old. I was offered 2 wheel pins for £5.99, but bought 10 for £1.60 from eBay. The 'simple' repair (the video is a hilarious contrast with reality) took the hammer of a blacksmith to effect.
So, onto the 2010 Scottish Seniors. The controller was still wonky but worked with a bit of fiddling. Good start, the as we played to the 6th green - yep, you guessed it - phuttttt!
Dust gathers over what looks like a fairly new trolley. I have given up and bought a PowaCaddy push trolley which works fine on links courses.
PS if you want a real laugh, buy the umbrella attachment!!
