I got a 50kg/m3 7.5 memory foam mattress with coolmax cover. I had already ordered a compressed one (from another company)which did not expand correctly so was a little dubious about ordered another one. The other was returned before Christmas.
When this new one arrived I was impressed with the delivery time (next day) and it was brought up to my first floor flat (I am a little disabled so hauling mattresses is painful). It popped up almost immediately when the bag was undone and my fears of a repeat performance were put to rest!
It didn't smell too bad so that was a relief too! Hurrah! I lay on it and it did feel a little soft, this I had expected as it is a deep memory foam. I do prefer a firmer bed and in hindsight I would have got a firmer one but it's on the bed and very comfy. I have a painful hip, back and neck and have a sharp pain in my right hip which even a 5cm 75kg density topper could not keep the dreaded spring push as bay. Now there are no springs and I couldn't be happier with that. No pressure points, just cradling, hugging foam. It is less hot than the bare foam topper so the Coolmax cover is working, I think the ventilation channels do help also,a good idea.
To make it a little higher (it rests on the wooden slat bed)and firmer I have included the topper within the cover to have a really luxury experience and it makes it a little firmer. I also didn't know what to do with the (rather large heavy topper). So sorted all round. I have had it a week tomorrow and can't really smell the chemicals. Some memory foam products take forever to be smell free. I have had two toppers and have two pillows and now a full mattress. I wish I had bought it earlier I may have saved myself a lot of bed pain. I live in a furnished rented flat (mattress provided) so getting permission to remove the landlord's mattress was necessary and not without it's tuts and groans (on her side).
Yes, unbelieveable isn't it? It now lives in the hall (so far).
I would recommend Snug and memory foam mattresses, especially if you have had orthopaedic operations which have left sharp bits in your body or need a new joint or have osteoarthritis. These products are a boon for people like us with these prodlems. I'm sure for normal spines they are just comfortable. For the price at Snug it is worth a try and if it doesn't work out at least you haven't wasted a fortune!
