“Generally pleased with some caveats”

Written on: 16/01/2012 by hawthorn (1 review written)

I have, I am ashamed to say, bought a lot from Gems.tv over the last 3 years (and Rocks.tv when it existed). Generally I have been very pleased with the items I have purchased, and I take a great deal of pleasure from the collection of jewellery I have now. I have noticed that some of the setting of small stones has deteriorated over the time I have shopped with them, and I would generally advise against buying rings with very small accent stones in their cheaper silver ranges - you are likely to lose the odd stone. I also only buy rings with at least 2 grams of gold or silver. This means I lose the 'bargain' gold rings sometimes, but I do get more substantial jewellery which should have a longer life. I also find their stones tend to be paler than perhaps some jewellers sell, however the clarity is often outstanding (I am leaving diamonds out here, I would not buy diamond rings from a TV presentation, but that is me). So generally, I am very happy with my purchases and have some items I completely adore, but I have had a few (not many) disappointments. You get what you pay for, but Gems still is a bargain on the whole.
