Tesco was a relatively standard car insurer until they were actually required. I was hit by an uninsured driver whilst I was stationary. I took photos of the two cars and i took details of the offending party. I was told that I had to pay the repair excess of £250 which would be recovered once Tesco had contacted the other driver. I also "temporarily" lost my no claims bonus whilst they made the recovery. The crash took place in March 2010, it's now January 2012 and I was told today (having been told to call back every two weeks ever since, costing me more money) that it's unlikely that they will be able to recover the excess or my no claims bonus. The customer service throughout this period was poor. After getting my car repaired, the radio required me to enter a code (another £15 which had to paid to a garage- renault garages aren't abundant in London), the repairmen stole the key ring my car keys were on and since this, i decided not to pay my final few months with Tesco so they're now claiming I owe around £400. They're a joke. I vehemently warn anyone away from them. One redeeming fact- Tesco stores recorded a poor sales this Xmas
