After having reached the dizzy heights of 11st.5lbs, with a dress size of an up and coming 16....I decided that work needed to be done. I had always been 9st.2lbs size 8 - 10. But this decision and determination had to come from me. Nobody else could decide.
I went to a local Tesco store and noticed the pamphlets for the new Tesco Diet on the counter at check-out. I felt embarrassed that I should even find myself picking one up and taking it home. I even hid it from my husband! Totally in denial. Never needed to diet before - or at least - 'officially diet'; one that I would pay for! Well...if I was to pay for it, then I needed to stick to it!
I began following every word, every ingredient to the letter. I exercised. I drank copious amounts of water as suggested and the pounds started to fall off. I managed a 17lbs loss over a period of 8 months. I was happy with that, as I didn't want 'baggy skin' due to fast loss - at my age with lower collagen levels I am aware that my skin would not spring back into shape!
I managed to get to 9st.12lbs ish and decided that I was going to 'go it alone' and I finished my TescoDiet membership, having been grateful for their updates and support. Around 4 months went by and I had noticed I had started to slip back into my old ways, so I thought for a change I would go to 'another' on-line diet and try them for a change. It just didn't work - it was too lenient! Therefore, I knew that it wasn't healthy! Obviously I was going for all the wrong stuff. Frustrated - I went back to TescoDiets, knowing that it worked once, so it would work again. However, on signing up, I only managed to stick 4 or 5 weeks - feeling totally angry with myself. The outcome? I have gained 12lbs over the last 6 months which HAS to come off. So here I am again!
Third time lucky? You bet! I started on the 3rd January and have already lost 5lbs. What's the catch I can hear some folk say; the catch is, YOU have to decide, YOU have to be prepared, YOU have to not kid yourself....oh....and just stop drinking alcohol! Zero tolerance I find works best. I promised myself 3 clear months of no booze. Ironically, I heard an interview with Tom Jones, the singer, on the radio who also had lost a lot of weight. I laughed to myself when he said he had gone for 3 months without alcohol and it worked! It was no use me paying for a diet and then wrecking it with white wine - so - it went! (And it's gone again!)
Wish me luck! I think that losing weight, even if it is in steps, is better than not losing it at all. I'm more than happy to begin again, and look forward to hopefully what will be my final hurdle in this race! Support from Tesco is never very far away - and for me - it's the only diet I can count on and through experience I know that it works! Many many thanks.
