“SKY Worst Customer Service EVER!”

Purchased SKY just before Christmas and we thought it was all set up. The signal was terrible and when we tried to book an engineer to come out it took ages for anyone to respond. When someone did eventually come out we told him we think the dish is not properly positioned, he told us he needed to "download system data" which had already been done when it was originally installed.

The signal was still terrible to the point where we had no TV over the holiday period because it kept cutting out. We did have a customer service rep ring us out of the blue a week or so later to ask if we were happy with the service and when we told them we weren't and we wanted it to be sorted they put us on hold for 5-10 mins and then the phone cutt off and nobody bothered to call us back.

We eventually decided to cancel the service (inside the 30 day cooling off period) and shortly afterwards we received a bill for £175 saying we had to pay for the whole year. After much faffing around we had the charges stopped. I can't believe how bad the experience has been. We now have Freesat and have no issues at all. Why would anybody pay £40 + a month to get a really bad service and it could easily have been resolved but they obviously don't really care when so many people use them. I would definately NOT recommend SKY to anybody that was thinking about it.
