“Ceiling lights left on during film”

Went to see The Girl with the Dargon Tattoo last night, a good film. It held everyones interest, not a single disturbance from anyone!
Sadly the actual projection quality was ruined by the fact that bright white ceiling lights were left on during the film. This washed out the detail in the film, leaving black areas in shadows etc just grey-contrast was greatly reduced. One of the exit lights which has to be kept lit shone directly onto the bottom right of the screen. I have never experienced a film show with white light shining around the place like this before. A member of staff who claimed to be management was a comlpete idiot, (I guess he does not watch films there, or worse still does not know any better. When I mentioned the problem to him, (having previously given him some praise for the sound etc), he just said that they had to stay on for safety reasons! Why? all of the steps are edge lit with LED lighting. Most cinemas use red or orange lighting which is not going to ruin the illusion.
I think in future I will save my £14.25, and buy a blue ray or DVD.
