“Website creation for tradesmen made easy! ”

Written on: 21/12/2011 by PeteGolfer (11 reviews written)

I used www.Tradesitebuilder.co.uk to create a new website for a friend who is a plumber. He already had a website but it was just not working (not showing on Google, no visitors, no calls!). I chose Tradesitebuilder because of four things (1) It was advertised as being designed specifically for tradesmen; (2) It offered an easy step-by-step website creation tool (pick you style, pick you colour scheme, select the pages you want and then add your pictures and text); (3) It said it was 'Google friendly' and lets you get at the behind the scenes SEO meta information (very important if you want to get seen on Google); (4) It is cheap (£69 per annum for everything including hosting).

The good bits - Website creation/edit process very easy to use; Very professional looking templates to select from; All help information is targeted at tradesmen (including sample text); Excellent help documents (and help pop-ups); Very easy to tweak the website to ensure it gets registered by the search engines (including help documents and pop-up examples); Response and help from the support team was excellent

The not so good bits - only one criticism really: The data editor for the text on each page is separated from a view of the template I selected whereas I would have preferred to have an in-line editor (ie see the website page and then click on the data areas to edit the text 'in-situ'). Not a major issue by any means, but would make it even easier to add your information.

Tradesitebuilder do offer additional services (they'll create your website for you; register it with Google Places; undertake keyword analysis and/or get some backlinks for you). These extra services could be selected one by one if/as you wanted them. I didn't use any of them because I did it all myself but I presume (based on the rest of the service) that if you wanted these services the quality would be good.

In summary, TradeSiteBuilder is an excellent solution for any 'tradesman' who recognises that they need a website - it really is very easy to create a professional quality website and very effective. Check out www.HayesPlumbing.co.uk to see the website I created for Hayes Plumbing & Heating, Belvedere, Kent - already ranking with Google, so a big thank you from mark :)
