I insured my motorbike through A-Plan since 2008 and hadn't had an issue. I had noticed the premium creep up a little but this year it nearly doubled in cost. I have never made a claim. I don't use my motorbike in the winter so at renewal in October I wrote to the company and stated that I did not wish to take out the new plan this time. At the same time I wrote to DVLA to SORN the bike and to my bank to stop the direct debit. Conveniently, it seems that 'they never received my letter' and the policy commenced at the new higher premium. I should add that I did look around elsewhere and found much cheaper premiums that the A-Plan renewal. In order to cancel the cover, I have had to pay the single premium for non refundable legal expenses cover, the cost of cover for the last three months and a cancellation fee. Absolutely no negotiation possible. My experience of them is awful, I couldn't recommend the company to my worst enemy.
