We joined plus net over 3 years ago because they were a small and what seemed customer orientated company...unlike the mammoths of the industry Virgin and Sky.
My first issue was when I had a sudden bill for over £100 for going over my usage limit. This was after being with them for 2 years. I was on the same contract as when I first signed on which had a lot less usage then the same account if you open it today. When I called up they said I had gone over my current usage so would have to pay, but I could have upgraded for free a long time ago to the recent usage limit.
After this I tried to forget about the £100 and remember they were a "small" and "customer focused" company. Until now.
I have been trying to sort out moving Plus Net over to a new address. All went well, they waivered a £65 fee if I agreed to a 12 month contract, and charged me £45 for a new connection fee. I agreed and paid. They then came to book the engineer and could get someone out for OVER A MONTH. They said this was out of their hands...an excuse which frustrates me.
So I explained I needed internet so will have to leave. They said fine. Put me through to their "cessation" department who told me to leave I have to PAY THEM £65.
£40 for a faulty router they replaced as they said I had agreed to a 12 month contract to receive a router in place of the original router that became faulty....and a £25 cessation charge that WAS OUT OF THEIR HAND.
So to sum up:
I paid them £24 a month = £288 pounds a year. For 3 years = £864 in total. And they couldn't even replace the a faulty router for no charge, or without conning me into a 12 month extended contract.
So there you go....I'm going back with the big boys now.
