“Be Warned ... this could be you.”

I gather Park Hampers want my review deleted. This is a true story and I want to highlight the pitfalls of dealing with Park Hampers and having to mail your vouchers onwards........ this is the review

I want to share a story with you. My daughter was a Park Hamper agent and she took money off a dear friend of hers on a regular basis. The good friend moved and so she had to send the vouchers by post. She thought she was choosing the right service and sent them off recorded delivery. (Weight of package was recorded as 50 grams) The Vouchers duly arrived and the friend signed for them in good faith. When she sat down and opened the envelope there was nothing in there. (weight of Envelope on arrival at recipient was less then 10 grams) The Envelope had been steamed opened and then sealed again with glue..(the envelope sealant was very tacky as if Pritt Stick had been used) The Post Office are doing a full investigation and Park Hampers blamed my daughter for not sending then by special delivery. There is a thief at the Royal Mail now enjoying £200 of vouchers intended for two special children
There is a good ending to this....The supposed recipient of the vouchers …. Has got some amazing friends The end of this is that they organized a secret collection and raised £185 via Facebook and in person. We now have a lovely lady crying with happiness not crying with despair. Facebook friends have done something that Park Hampers and the Royal Mail had it in their power to do but wouldnt. Park Hampers even said it was too much trouble to cancel the vouchers
So there are morals to this story
Do not send anything valuable by Recorded Delivery always send special delivery and ensure you are covered if it does not arrive your end.
Certainly do not use Park Hampers if you have to send any vouchers by Royal Mail. You have to spend a fortune sending special delivery. Certainly do not send them Recorded Delivery, Christmas Time remember the Royal Mail have a lot of temporary staff on And when what I thought was a reputable company decide to try and turn one friend against another... Remember this could be your story
