This delightful company has sent it's debt collectors after me - after I cancelled my renewal.

Their Terms and Conditions state "For any Customer buying as a consumer (i.e., not within the course of a business) the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 allows you to have the unreserved right to cancel the contract within 7 days from either:- (a) the date the contract is formed; or (b) the date customer receives confirmation that the contract is formed from the Company, whichever is the later."

They invoiced me for a renewal on the 25th July and I emailed back to cancel on the same day. They have since ignored 4 further cancellation requests - and in doing so have denied me my legal rights as a consumer.

I am now dealing with their debt-collection monkeys Arvato Limited - and despite sending them 6 explanatory emails I am nowhere further forward (unless you count the dent in my desk where I have hit it repeatedly with my head)

Would I recommend 1and1 - not on your life. I look forward to taking them to court for Harassment.
