I tried to book an flight ticket from Chennai-Vizag (Spicejet SG-921) scheduled to depart on Oct 6, 2011 at 16:05 hrs. I used makemytrip to book the flight ticket. However, the transaction timed out after the amount got deducted from my bank account. There was no e-ticket generated and I didn't receive any confirmation email of the booking done.
I tried to book the ticket on Oct 5, 2011 (around 11PM IST). I used State Bank of India (SBI) Visa debit card to pay the amount of Rs. 3585. In my account statement, I can see the amount is deducted but the transaction got cancelled and I didn't receive the e-ticket. For reference, my SBI online statement for this failed transaction says the:
POS 127817150331 CCAVENUES (Debit: 3585)
This is the only transaction details that I have access to i.e., the Point Of Sale (POS) ID. It's been more than a month and yet the amount is not credited to my bank account. In the website, they say that the amount will be credited within 3 working days. I believe that the money is supposed to be refunded back by now but it's been delayed and hence I am concerned. I emailed MakeMytrip customer care several times. I also submitted a copy of my bank statement reflecting the transaction done. Everytime they give me a complaint ID but don't seem to act on it. I also called the customer care but they are not helpful either. They keep making false assurances. They deduct the amount while booking but they are not prompt in refunding it. It's very unprofessional on their part to do such a thing. I can understand the delay for a couple of weeks but it's been several weeks now and I can't see any difference in their treatment. They boast of better customer care but are hypocritical in their own actions. Pathetic!
