“Raja Fasions, what ever happened....”

Written on: 10/11/2011 by bugged (2 reviews written)

I've visited Raja fashions on several occasions in numerous hotels around the UK, most lately at the Novatel in the City of London. Altogether I have had a total of 6 suits and 5 shirts made-to-measure. The first 2 suits were fabulous quality material (for the money) and the attention to tailoring detail was impeccable, although the fit was a little ‘boxy’ as I only took one fitting. The shirts were also well made and very hard wearing when considering the fine quality of the cotton used.

Now, only two years ago, what a different story, The materials offered for the mid priced suits were dry and itchy - the type of thing you might find in a ‘one season wonder’ item from any high street retailer – and it took a great deal of effort to persuade the sales guy the produce the swab with reasonable quality materials, funnily enough, for the same price… I was measured and once again happily placed my orders in anticipation of the suits arriving at my home address within the given 6 weeks.

Four weeks later my 4 new suits arrived and boy, what a disappointment. The quality of the workmanship was dreadful, 4 suits all taken from he same measurements but each with a different fit. I contacted Raja and arranged for a second fitting which happened promptly and my suits made their way back to Hong Kong.

Another four weeks later the suits where in my hands once again, this time each alteration had improved the fit but one of the suits was very tight.

I quite simply could not be bothered to wait for another 4/6 weeks for the turn around and another measuring session.

If the quality of the product were there I’d say it’s simply a cost versus convenience decision but as it stands I felt like the sales man tried to palm me off with the cheapest cloth possible, the tailoring skills were very poor and the after sales left something to be desired. As with many businesses, they start great, find success and become complacent. It’s a shame but Raja has lost my custom for good and I can only suggest that you research and use somebody else and, of course, relay your experiences on here!
