“Payment demanded before cheque recieved”

I have received several final demands even before my claim has been completed. I have been informed that if I do not make a payment of £26 (25% extremely high and NOT made obvious via TV ad) now that I will be referred to solicitor. The thing is I still have recieved my claim yet and have contacted Belmont and informed them. I was told to make a small payment, which I informed them was not acceptable, especially as I have not had my refund yet. It makes no sense pay up or be taken to court. Very unprofessional and highly disappointing been treated in such an appalling way..
