Earlier on this year we had decided that our kitchen needed replacing. We had looked around all the usual providers, DIY stores etc and also bespoke kitchen manufactures. Whilst many came up with semi decent designs the standard of their product left a lot to be desired. Purely by chance we came upon Kutchenhaus in Hull.
From the moment we entered the showroom we were greeted by a lady who allowed us to wander around at our leisure and finally when we needed questions to be answered she was on hand. We were extremely impressed by the standard of workmanship and after deliberation between my wife and myself we arranged for a designer to visit our house to measure up.
The following day I used the www to peruse the various reviews of Kutchenhaus. Some were good but some were damming. One stated that there was no one to complain to and that stores did not have managers. One person was infuriated that his kitchen was not completed on time and that parts were missing and it would take up to another 6 weeks for them to arrive. Reading these reports put us off ordering from Kutchenhaus, and we decided to cancel the designer. However, rather than call the shop on the phone and cancel we decided to go to the shop and face them and explain the reason why. On arriving at the showroom we found that the lady who had originally looked after us was on a day off, but a gentleman called James spoke to us. We explained the situation and James asked us to meet another gentleman who was visiting the store. This gentleman explained that James was the Manager and he was the Area Manager. After speaking to these gentlemen at some length we were given various assurances. It was also stated that they though some of the reviews were malicious. We decide to go ahead with the design phase.
A week after Andy (the designer) had been to the house to measure up, he produced three different designs. We chose one which was amended on numerous occasions without causing a problem. We were informed at this time that the probable fitment date would be towards the end of September. We duly signed the order forms. A week later my wife realised that both Andy and ourselves had omitted to include a backing cover for an area of wall. We went to Hull and explained this to Andy who pulled up the design, took measurements and then phoned head office and got it placed on the original order. In the middle of September we were notified of the start date, 2 weeks later.
On the given date Mark the fitter arrived early and started stripping the old kitchen out and then made the various electrical alterations that were required. The following day the new kitchen was delivered and Mark commenced the construction. It was found that the plinths had been left on the delivery wagon. Mark made a phone call and the missing parts were delivered by courier the following morning. By Friday afternoon the kitchen was finished, with the exception that the plinths, at our request had been left off until a new kitchen floor covering had been fitted. It was agreed that they would be fitted by Mark when he returned for any remedials that may need his action (non were).
We are extremely pleased with not only the high standard of the kitchen we have had fitted but also with the total high level of service that we have received from Kutchenhaus in all departments. They have been totally professional throughout and I would highly recommend them to anyone. mark the fitter has the highest standards and it shows in the way the finished kitchen looks. We have not one complaint at all with Kutchenhaus and we both strongly recommend them to anyone who want a high class kitchen.
