I booked a TNT collection and delivery from Liverpool to Kent recently, for a dvd unit purchased from ebay. TNT's cost was the best out of all the couriers I looked at. Now I know why. There is truth in the saying "you get what you pay for". The unit left Liverpool in mint condition. It was delivered to me in Kent by an obviously embarrassed driver (no doubt he got the short straw) who sheepishly opened the back of the van to show me the damaged unit. All the packaging was in tatters and the unit was scratched, broken, corners missing, and screws ripped from their housings leaving gaping holes. He even handed me chunks of the unit from the floor of the van. I kid you not.
I'll be the first to admit that perhaps the unit could have been packaged better than it was, but there was no excuse for the condition it eventually arrived in. Some of the damage could only have been through sheer brute mistreatment. The unit had obviously been thrown around without the slightest consideration to it's safety.
If you hire a courier via a 3rd party site such as Parcel2Go etc, TNT will ALWAYS come up as the first and cheapest option. There is a reason for this, so please, even if you have to pay more, choose another courier. Bin-men treat wheelie bins with more respect than TNT does with it's customers goods.
