after umming and ahrring for a few weeks i decided i wanted a trek 8000 mtb after searching around the best price i could find was 1200 pound at a few shops but je james was the closest to me so decided to pay them a visit. i phoned ahead to check the bike was in stock and i could have a good look /sit on it ,all good so far i visited the rotherham branch and i must say it is easily the best bike shop ive ever been in for choice and layout, the staff were pleasant enough but somehow didnt seem very interested in selling anything, i dont expect to be treated like royalty but when your spending £1200 on a push bike a little bit more interest in my probably stupid questions and queiries would have been appreciated, the sales man also agreed to fit a quick release seat clamp f.o.c when i brought the bike back for its 4 week service they fitted the clamp and tried to charge me however this did get resolved quickly .also i asked about there loyalty bonus on the till receipt and apparantly when you spend £1200 pound on a discounted end of season bike which i could have got elsewhere i get nothing ,but if i visit the shop say once or twice a month spend a few quid here and there then you do get loyalty points and discounts on other items ,looks like i will get my spd shoes and pedals /gloves elsewhere.and the mechanic did say that it was normal for a little bit of rubbing/sqeaking from the brake pads on the discs when pushing the bike however he did fix this ,je james rotherham is a fantastic shop, the only thing missing is the staff dont seem overly customer focused however they are pleasent enough. i dont like to write anything negative but the loyalty scheme sucks ,the bike i bought is stunning .
