I have been with Tesco insurance ever since I passed my driving test (5 years ago). I initially went with Tesco as their cover for a new driver was very reasonable in comparison with some companies. Whilst over the years I've amended my policy due to personal circumstances (I learnt my lesson from not opting for a courtesy car initially and I opted in for their breakdown cover one year). Two years in to my policy and driving career I had a single vehicle accident. Shortly after checking out from A&E I called Tesco and they were very helpful, advised me of their approved garages, the car went in and was fixed within the week, the claim settled, no quibbles, I was just billed for my excess. I was dreading my renewal price after the accident but it wasn't excessive given my loss of no claims and having an accident against my name. Unlike most of my peers, my insurance hasn't increased expedentially this year (I understand that there is no differentiation between male and female cover anymore and therefore female insurance has rocketed to bring in line with males). Albeit after another year with them and another year's no claims, my premium hasn't decreased which is a little disappointing, but knowing what is generally across the insurance market, I don't think I can complain.
I don't recognise the company that all these one star reviews describe as my experience of Tesco car insurance has been nothing but efficient and helpful.
