“RIP OFF, METEOR TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLES MISFORTUNE”

Written on: 16/10/2011 by rubydooby (1 review written)

My teenager uploaded accidentally while downloading a program. This resulted in a bill of 680eur. Meteor made no allowance for this error, no neg with bill on grounds of fair play and good customer relations. We were instructed to pay an immediate 400 up front or get cut off. It took alot of persuasion for meteor to agree to 1st payment of 200eur, 2nd payment 200 and 35 there after till bill paid. While paying our agreed installments Meteor cut our Internet off till bill paid in total yet still charged us for it. Meteor also informed me it wasnt possible to move to another network until bill paid as I was tied into a extended verbal contract with them for 18mths. The Communications Regulator advised the same. A gentleman from Money Village called Eugene advised me live on the Sunshine Radio station that Meteor hadnt got a leg to stand on. I could leave Meteor at any time and continue repaying their money while with alternative network and keep my number. If Meteor brings me to court for breaking verbal contract that no judge will entertain them considering Im still repaying them. I would not recommend this unreasonable company. They seem to make alot of money from peoples misfortune. Meteor text when my bill is overdue yet do nothing to help and inform customer when unusual activity on Internet account.
