“WHAT ALOAD OF UTTER VERY EXPENSIVE **** DO NOT BUY!!”

Written on: 14/10/2011 by Turkeyboy

I am a chef of 44 years experience and have used many different pans.I think a lot of Jamie and decided to buy his pro pans rather than the cheaper tefal pans. oh! what a big mistake. We bought the small and large frying pan and after the very first time of using, the small stuck badly. Returned it to debenhams where we bought them from and after big argument finally got it replaced. Within only amonth of using both pans Iwas pulling my hair out as everything we tried to cook stuck like **** to a blanket! and on both pans the surface had started to lift. I got in touch with Tefal what awaste of space they were. They told me to email photographs of the pans to them for their analysis and they would do what they could and get back to me. Their answer was that I had mistreated them by over heating them although havn't they got ared dot in the middle? They refused point blank to help me as they insisted that it was my own fault. SO MUCH FOR CUSTOMER AFTER CARE AND SERVICE. I am sending in this review as I stumbled across this site by accident and now feel fully vindicated. if Ihad found your damning reviews earlier Iwould definately pursued this matter further.
Since this incident happened we now if possible check reviews before purchasing anything. I would as a professional chef recommend that no-one waste their money the Jamie Oliver Professional Series.
Every cloud has a silver lining and after spending over £100 on them I was not going to throw them away I picked the coating off both pans very carefully taking great care not to scratch them using my nails and where alittle tougher aflat wooden spatula, this as you might imagine took ages. but i persevered after this I used car grade wet and dry techniques to polish the pans to a mirror finnish and hey presto they no longer stick!!
So please I hope this review has helped any one who has already purchased a set.
