“Good break, but Blue Lagoon Resort not really 4 star to us”

Written on: 14/10/2011 by NickPinder (1 review written)

A newish Hotel, but very designed around young children. The room was a good size, and clean, but hard beds, and limited seating in the room. The piano bar was quiet, and friendly bar staff, and a reasonable singer and pianist. The weather was fine for 3 days, then rained very hard (and long)for the rest of the break. A strike before take off delayed us 12 hours, so lost one day (or more) of the week, and arrived at 4am on Thursday rather than 5pm on Wednesday. Nothing First Choice could do about it, and we were fed breakfast and lunch on the day.
The transport on, and off the site, was good, and prompt. The main restaurant food was good and varied, the Greek and Italian were again clean and good although the wine at the Italian was expensive (cheapest was 8 Euros a bottle, going up to 35 Euros for Pino Grigio!) and not on the All Inclusive. All in All, a pleasant break, but sadly not really relaxing, and wouldn't bother again, didn't help with the site closing in parts two weeks before the end of season.
