After reading mixed reviews, we booked through a broker- Economy car hire.
We paid £142 for a 8 day hire of a Corsa ( 5 door manual with AC)
Included in the price was an extra driver and full tank of petrol and the optional full insurance(via Economy car hire)
We picked up the car in the dark, and the car hire desk was very hard to find.
It is located in car park 4, and with all the roadworks around the airport car parks its a bit of wonder we found it at all!!
The guy who processed our paperwork was quick and friendly and explained everything clearly to us.
When we examined the car in the daylight we found what we would term considerable damage , with dints, dents , dings galore as well as a cracked side mirror.
However, the car was quite clean and had no mechanical problems.
We were worried that the damage was not listed on the damage report, so we took a video of the damage oncluding the date on the dashboard display, just in case.
On the last day we had a flat tyre, which we changed easily. We rang them and advised them and they advised us to get the puncture repaired as they do not cover Tyres in their insurance. However we rang Economy car hire insurance and were advised we were covered with them.
We returned the car to the airport and were pleasantly surprised not to be charged any excess for the puncture. The guy who off hired our car was friendly and quick.
There was no mention of the pre-existing damage either.
Our only problem was getting into Car park 4, we queued for about 15 minutes and then got right behind some idiot who wanted to reverse out when he got to the front of the queue!!.
You have to take a ticket to gain entry , and a lot of people seemed to have problems with this, not sure why? Allow plenty of time to drop off your car when you return it, not due to Travelrent, but due to airport roadworks and queues to enter car park.
Would definitely recommend and use again.
