Having been a loyal customer for over 11 years with and never had I had a problem with Sky or have they ever had to chase me for a single payment I find myself today cancelling my entire subscription due to there lack of respect and dam right incompetence to treat there existing customer's with any decency. I called sky to advise I was interested in transferring over my broadband and line rental and asked what packages they had on offer. A agent advised they can offer free broadband and line rental for £12.95. Great, I accept and was asked to obtain a Mac code from my existing provider and Sky will do the rest and get everything changed over. Little over a hour later with a huge struggle to cancel my current contract I finally retained the Mac code to provide to Sky only to be told in order for me to transfer over I have to pay a sign on fee of £40 and then was told due to where I live I am not entitled to free broadband and have to pay £17.50 and line rental of £12.95. I could not believe it having wasted over an hour on a Saturday of my free time to obtain a Mac code and cancel my contract with my existing provider only to be told I have to pay these fees which where not mentioned on the first call and works out to be much more expensive then my previous provider. I could not believe what I was being told and was advised there was nothing more Sky can do for me. I then found myself on the phone with sky for a further 1hr plus getting absolutely no where, explaining to them I have just spent a hour cancelling my existing provider to move over to you to save money but found I would be paying much more. At this point I finally had enough and requested to cancel my entire subscription which they where happy to do!!!
A customer that has been with Sky for 11 YEARS PLUS, Nothing more they can do, what a joke!!!
To top it off I wrote a letter of complaint and was received from Sky on the 19/09/11 only then to receive a voice mail on the 5/10/11 (great response time) from a person called Gary leaving a pathetic voicemail saying we have received your letter of complaint which we will respond back too. Upon receiving the letter on the 13/10/11 it was a feeble attempt made from Gary Scott from Customer relations expressing he’s apologies for the service and not having a ounce of decency not came back with any offer or compensation having wasted my time,phone bill and the hassle I went through, to come back with just lame apology and having only attempted to call me once and to send a letter that's not even worth the paper it has been printed on, that's just taking the pee!!! Well if that's what 11 years of being a value customer gets you, I wish I never started with SKY and recommend them to friends and family.
PLEASE FOR THOSE LOYAL PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO ARE CONSIDERING JOINING SKY PLEASE TAKE IT FROM ME DO NOT!! ONCE THEY HAVE GOT YOU THEY DON'T GIVE A DAM!!!!!
