My husband and I have just come back from Chaaya Island Dhonveli after two glorious weeks there. It is a beautiful and tiny resort island with white sand, azure sea and coconut palms (these things and good weather were my requirements). On top of all that the staff are efficient and friendly, the rooms much more spacious than they look on the website, the food excellent and varied and we totally relaxed.
The only downside is that this is such a couple-orientated holiday (with each couple being allocated their own table for each meal) that there was little opportunity to interact in the evenings. On Greek islands we chat to people in the tavernas. I can understand that honeymoon and very young couples might well want to be totally alone all the time, but some of us who have been together a bit longer are happy to just spend the days alone. It was a wonderful holiday though, with dream setting and a marvellous 60th birthday trip! Thank you to everyone.
The seat pitch on the planes is good too - though we were unimpressed by being made to sit behind each other on both journeys!
