I purchased a Stowamatic Titanium Gt Electric golf trolley ( Endorsed by Ian Woosnam ) in June 2010. After about 3 months, the power became intermittent i.e. sometimes it would respond to the power control and sometimes it would not. On one occasion after playing 6 holes, it just gave up, meaning I had to push it for the rest of the round.n Upon contacting Sports HQ I was told to pack the trolley safely and it would be collected and repaired under guarantee. After 2 weeks, the trolley was returned to me in the same box I had sent it in, but without any protective packing inside. There was no explanation as to what had been done to repair the trolley. During the journey back from Sports HQ, the trolley had suffered major damage to the frame and axle due to the lack of protection. After countless phone calls and e-mails, the trolley was eventually replaced with a brand new one in December 2010.
Whilst playing a round of golf in early September I was speechless when the main tubular shaft snapped at the point where the top bag support is bolted through.
Upon contacting Sports HQ I was informed that the guarantee had expired, the model had been superceded and that although a repair service was available at £70 it would be no use as parts to that model were no longer stocked.
I have since e-mailed the company with my concerns that the trolley was actually only 9 months old and clearly not fit for purpose. In fact, the young man I spoke to on the telephone understood the fault immediately - implying that this is in fact in inherant design fault. Unsurprisingly up to now, I have not been given the courtesy of a reply.....
So if you want an electric golf trolley that will give you a reasonable amount of value and service - please steer away from this one.
