After reading a mixture of reviews, both positive and otherwise, regarding slim-fast I felt I should possibly contribute my experience with the plan. I have lost 5st on slim-fast and kept it off for the past 18months. The slim-fast plan worked for me as it fitted easily into my lifestyle. Although I would recommend this diet it will only work, as with all diets, if it is easily adapted to your lifestyle. For example a friend of mine lost minimal weight on slim-fast but did exceptionally well with weight watchers!
Diets are an individual preference and most will work if one adheres to the 'rules' and increases their mobility. There is little point in the reviews which appear to dismiss the slim-fast diet on the basis it did not work for them. Just because it worked for myself does not automatically guarantee success for other individuals. In saying this, I enjoyed the slim-fast plan. It involves minimal calorie counting and the ease of being able to grab a ready made shake off a shelf had benefits for me.
In short, for those who wish to try this diet give it a go. For those who feel it is not for them I hope you find a plan that will suit your individual needs.
Remember though slim-fast is not a quick fix. Weight does not pile on over night and equally it will not disappear in such a way. All diets/healthy eating plans take dedication and commitment not only to sticking to it but to re-address the habits that resulted in the weight gain in the first place.
