I am former cabin crew, so have a good idea of what is acceptable on flights. I have never been on a flight with such atrocious, cramped, back and neck pain inducing seats. Unable to even put a book in the seat pocket, and I am 5'6 and of normal weight. In an emergency, passengers would literally have to prise themselves out of these seats - they are so narrow the trolley continually bangs into you, and there is so little legroom, you simply cannot move. Or get your tray table down.
Row 31 (727-200) is positively dangerous, no recline on the seat at all. With the additonal charming feature of the toilet opening directly onto you.
Complained directly to the CAA about the safety issue - in an emergency, how can you brace properly ? How can you get out of those seats quickly ? I would certainly not have been able to brace in row 31. How would you get your lifejacket ?
Incredulous this is allowed in 2011.
