Having checked in our luggage at Gatwick at least 2 hours prior to departure we were shocked to discover that both of our suitcases had failed to appear on our arrival at Lanzarote. Eventually we found the EasyJet handling agent and reported the missing luggage. We were given a standard letter of apology for their incompetence and a contact telephone number and website address to trace our lost bags. It would have been useful to know what we could buy in the short term to start enjoying our holiday - apparently you can spend up to £25 per day for essential items.
The suitcase did eventually turn up about 45 hours after our arrival.
We were not the only passengers to be affected on this flight and according to the handling agent this was becoming a regular occurrence so be warned - I will not pay for hold luggage if I ever fly with EasyJet in the future.
Both the outbound and return flights were delayed by 1 hour.
