It's a long story and sadly, it invariably is with Raja tailors!
Having used them a few years ago for a couple of 3 peice suits, I felt despite a fair bit of to-ing and fro-ing that I was satisfied enough to return - clearly time had dulled my memory - on balance so far I made the wrong decision!
After haggling at my first visit, we agreed on the cost - they are better sales men than tailors! The sample suit arrived quite quickly and all in all not bad. Following some suggested amendedment the rest of the suits were made and arrived a few weeks late with the wrong specs - turn ups where I didnt ask for one, waist buckles where I hadn't asked for one and very poor repairs to a jacket I'd asked to be relined . In the grand scheme these were not "deal breakers"; my biggest concern was the quailty of the finishings - I'd expect much better in a suit half the price I paid. Rather than go through the rigmarole of lots of amendements, I asked for a waitcoat for one of the suits. When it finally arrived, I was taken aback - that Raja would put their name to this item was shocking - clearly it had landed on the sewing table of a youngster who couldn't spell bespoke let alone understand what it means and clearly there was no quality control.
I'm still in the process of having amendments to a satisfactory level and just a few weeks into wearing one of the suits the lining is already visibly fraying.
In summary, my view is that Raja has had it's day. The service has detoriorated over the years and indeed any USP is lost - it certainly doesn't deliver value for money. Their suits are certainly not cheap and when I compare the finshed product with one of a comparable standard (a suits that fits -STF) , which a little more expensive the difference is clear - I'll go for the STF every time. So for me its thanks and goodbye Raja!
