i started my policy with esure on the 04/07/11. they emailed me my paperwork and requested i sent proof of no claims bonus, this i did which was in the form of my renewal pack from tesco insurance, paid my money and was happy and insured. 14/07/11 i get a blank letter from esure with a leaflet advertising other services. the letter had my name and policy number on it and who it was from, as sent with leaflet i took this as a copliment slip type thing to accompany the leaflet. BIG MISTAKE.
02/08/11 i recieve a letter telling me my insurance was cancelled on the 25/07/11 due to not responding to thier request for more information. so i was driving my children around for 7 days with no insurance.
the customer service team in glasgow were terrible. kept telling me i could start a new policy at a higher premium. they refused to put me through to a manager.
i will update this at later date as i am taking it further as they were in breach of contract, T&C,s say 14 days notice must be given by them, 1: i didnt recieve said letter. 2: if i did they are still in breach as they say they sent it on 13/07/11 thats only 12 days, 3: i dont believe that they are in their right to cancell a policy without notice for a clerical error on their side, endangering my licence and my job.
