The WORST airline I have ever flown with. I have travelled to Thailand, Turkey, Italy, America etc and never ever come across such appalling service and lack of human decency. Not only did they cause me (and others) to miss our connecting flights from Johannesburg, but the way we were treated was despicable. We were ignored, treated like we were not worth their time or effort. They lied blatantly and smiled while doing it. The LAM staff on the transit desk said we had to speak to the office upstairs, the office staff said we had to speak to transit desk staff and so it went on. Then to top it all off, even whilst acknowledging it was their fault that I missed my connecting BA flight to London Heathrow, they refused to pay for a rescheduled flight apparently because I had booked that ticket with a travel agent - and they only told me this at 5pm the next evening having promised all day that they would sort tickets out, too late for me to phone the UK. I had to pay nearly £600 to get back, nearly as much as my original return ticket cost. I have since heard that 3 of the people also affected have had their baggage lost - why am I not surprised. NEVER use them, I have now learnt they are notorious for delayed flights, cancelled flights, shocking customer service, losing luggage, generally being the worst airline ever - it is beyond me why they are still allowed to function.
If you have ever had a bad experience with LAM, please publish it as widely as you possibly can on travel forums, review websites - they either need to become an honourable organisation or be shut down.
