just got back from a long weekend break fri-mon. Arrival was abit confusing as the reception is not were you book in but join a long queue in the club room for the keys.We went to the chalet which we expected to be basic anyway it had recently been cleaned, there was mold around the tiles on the shower/bath and the floor didnt look like it had been moped corners etc...i took my own cleaning products to be on the safe side as we had a 2 year old with us(hands everywere)The kids were playing in the bedroom and moved the beds we then discovered the carpet had only been cleaned in the areas which were in sight underneath and sides were full of fluff! The kitchen area was clean enough, cooker, fridge, crockery and cutlery. The pull out sofa had seen better days and was realy uncomfortable to sleep on as were the duvets and pillows(which hadnt been laundered as there was staining)We found that entertainment kids clubs etc were not made very clear apart from notices in the main area, maybe putting these into the welcome packs would help,as we were abit confussed as to what we had paid for exactly because the park is now open to public for free.We found the areas around the park abit tatty and it looked like was up for a refurb,we visited 'The Queen Vic' pub for an evening meal which i have to say was quite disgusting for an eating venue the food and service wasnot upto scratch and didnt feel very clean, tables were full of used plates glasses etc for over an hour and it wasnt too busy for staff to cope with.Having visited Pontins many times as a child i realy wanted the experience to follow through for my kids but was a litte dissapointed. I would like to see the camp refurbed now under new owners and hope this happens the entertaintment, blue coats sing-a-longs and the kids club is all very dated "come on Pontins get in the 20th century" ppl will love you a whole load more!
