“Poor service”

Whilst Stationary - and had just parked my vehicle, an emergency Police riot/prison van pelted towards me (without his blues and twos flashing) and side swiped the passenger side rear of my Ford Focus taking my bumper with it. The young cop tried driving off and leaving the scene, presumably thinking the car was unoccupied. He was shocked when I ran after him and managed to stop and alert him from driving off at a busy junction. He claimed he did not know he had hit me and could not stop as he was on his way to a public disorder. I got some sort of business card off him - and he then drove off without a bye or leave.
However, Tescos lied to me and said I would be called in regards to a hire car - which I had paid for on my policy. I was very annoyed as the Saturday was the only day I had off work so I was very inconvienienced. The Hire car never materialised as the stupid hire car company close at the weekend. Yet on my insurance policy it says hire car access is 24/7 - well it is cleary 8/5. And now I find that Tescos have blamed me for the accident and have incresed my policy by more than £100 - and astonishingly do not have any protocol or means to challenge their decision. They have plenty of premium rate numbers to ring (10pence per min) but no facility or procedure available to ask why they have blamed me for the accident. Their customer service is just a disjointed call centre which by and large consists of young inexperienced staff who are obviously non-converseant with Tescos procedures and rules etc pertaining to car insurance policies.
Absolutely disgusted with their very poor aftercare - especially when I have been with them for nine years. Would not recommend them to anyone. Tescos have got far too big as a company and simply do not careless for their customers. Even the repairs on my car are not right as my boot does not close properly due to the garage ill fitting the boot on the hinges.
Not an happy customer....
