“Formentera Short Guide”

written by jazzy4488 on 01/07/2011

Formentera is a fantastic place to holiday, it has some of the best beaches in the world and has no nightclubs on the island.

Shopping - Most of the shops are located in Es Pujols and Sant Fransec de Formentera the latter being the Capital of the island. Es Pujols is the most touristy part of the island, and as such it is the place to get your trendy clothes. cdiabiza is a great little shop selling Club music and a range of 'Formentera Life Style' clothing. The only Perfume shop is here too and the normal beach related shops also throw up unusual gifts and purchases.

As for Sant Francesc, although it's the capital and still has some trendy shops you will find that the majority are more Spanish related in terms of goods. They are still aimed at tourists, but with a local feel about them.

In El Pilmar de la Mola you will find the Hippie Market and this is something not to be missed, it starts at about 4pm but don't get there until 6pm as all the stalls will not be setup, live folk music will play in the small but beautiful centre of the market in the evening and you will find that people from across the globe have adopted Formentera as their home. All the stalls are interesting and the stallholders are willing to regale you with stories of their homeland and their toils getting to the island.
There are also two special Jewellery shops and one famous (on the island and to people who've been) artist here and I will say no more, find out for yourselves....

Food - In Es Pujols you will find a lot of restaurants cater for sea food, paella and Italian sorts of food namely Pizza, but the selection varies and you can always find something to your taste.

If you want some insider information, there is a restaurant 1 minute's walk from town called
