Why would anyone subject themselves to ikea, after walking around the store and deciding on the complex wardrobe system we wanted we went to ask to pay and have it delivered. We were told we would have to order it online if we wanted it delivered. If the staff could have been any more unhelpful it would have taken a miracle.
So i ordered everything online and duly paid, got a confirmation email then got a delivery date. everything seemed fine till DHL called to arrange delivery, what a waste of time. and a delay of over 2 weeks to have it delivered.
So i sit in and wait for the delivery, the driver calls me to tell me they will be half an hour and then half an hour later i get a call saying they cant get into the street, i can see all entrances to the street and no dhl or ikea truck to be seen. there is a car park 50-70m away from the house but they couldnt use that either. So i have arranged a total of 3 days of work and still have no furniture. Avoid ikea at all costs, so far i am out of pocket over £1000 and still have no furniture and awaiting a refund of the initial purchase. Ikeas idea of compensation was £15 which is incredibly patronising considering the time i have spent and losses i have incurred.
