I have been a customer for 30 years with hsbc,i currently applied for a small mortgage to purchase a caravan,wish i'd never bothered! I was told what i would need to take to the appointment ie;wage slips,bank statements,any other payments that i made on a regular basis.I was told they would get back to me within a few days, they phoned me about two days later to say they needed other information;i sent this straight away.I waited about 3 weeks and when i heard nothing thought i would ring them.Mistake!! they said they would call me when a decision had been made.In the end it took numerous phone calls and visits to be told we had been refused this application it took 4 months!!! and if i hadn't have phoned myself i would still be waiting to hear!!! I am thoroughly disgusted by this so called customer service and am now closing my account with them and going with a more efficient and worthwhile bank.I have not got anything good to say about this bank,but would definitely not recommend to anyone! Be warned-they are fine when they get your custom but if you need any help,forget it!
