Luckily, I rang the centre the day before my skid pan experience and found that the time had been changed.
A letter had been sent to me but I did not receive it. Unfortunately they had not followed up.
Apart from the weather, raining, the day was brilliant. My instructor, Kenny, explained and demonstrated everything I had to achieve and then it was my turn.
Using a special 'skid' car Kenny was able to make the car drive on virtual black ice, 4" of snow and heavy rain. What a rush! I managed to spin the car in two complete circles three times, before I was able to control the skids.
Kenny was extrememly patient and explained what I was doing wrong, then gave me plenty of time to put it right.
A great afternoon, even though the facilities were sadly lacking, and one that I would recommend to EVERY driver.
I would have liked to know that spectators could not get close enough to see anything and they found it quite boring.
