“Lifesource Water system/sediment filter....BEWARE...”

I bought this system 6 years ago because I did not want to use a salt softening system as is bad for the environment. Right from the start this system cost me more than the salesman told me it would...it was $500 just to get it installed with the sediment filter after spending $3000 for the system. Within a year the sediment filter was leaking all over my garage and had to be replaced which cost me another plumber bill of $200. It has improved the taste of my water and does take out the chlorine but does NOTHING about the calcium and lime in my water even with the sediment filter and this is my biggest need for a filtration system. I went out this morning and the sediment filter is again leaking all over my garage. I had to spend $100 late last year to replace parts at the top so this system is becoming a maintenance headache. I am about to replace this system with another. This system is way over priced for what it does....think twice about buying this product. They also have lousy customer service. When I bought the parts necessary late last year to fix the controller on the top the guy said I could easily make the change out myself. Finally after 3 phone calls and an hour of work I got the parts replaced....the service person who walked me through it was very aggrevated and short with me because he had to get on the phone 3 times with me to make the switch. They are happy to sell you a product but once you have it they want no calls from you.
